Pop Pop Santa Village

Pop Pop

Pop Pop is a winter seasonal event design created for eight duty-free stores in Korea. The project combines cultural elements with retail space to offer more than a shopping experience. A Santa Village theme brings together winter, Christmas and gifts, recalling precious moments of travel. Illustrations of characters, animals and trees are joined by overlapping lines, so the images can be read like a puzzle. Neon-flex lighting, acrylic and fomex are used to add color and light to the white architectural space.

For Georges Rousse Trophy

For Georges Rousse

For Georges Rousse is a trophy created as a tribute to a French photographer. The trophy is a three-dimensional sculpture based on anamorphosis, an optical effect in which a form looks distorted from most angles. Seen from one specific point, the folded planes align and show a flat circle with colored openings. The form was modeled with a three-dimensional computer program. Plates of cupro-nickel and silver were cut, folded and soldered, then colored by heat to create a contrast between black and white. The trophy measures 115 by 137 by 154 millimeters.

The Multiverse Introductory Passageway

The Multiverse

The Multiverse is an introductory passageway designed for a watch and clock fair hall in Hong Kong. The passageway covers 745 square metres and guides visitors towards the branded watch booths. A mirrored rotunda entry marks the concourse. Inside, a 5 metre high transparent LED waterfall with a mirrored overhang stands at the centre. Themed portals lead to four zones and a lounge. The walls are built with reusable aluminium frames clad in vinyl graphics and mirrored panels. The abstract concept reflects the creative focus of an imaginary artisan watchmaker.

Centrestage 2018 Event Organisers Space

Centrestage 2018

Tomorrow Lab is an event space design created for Centrestage, a fashion event held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for four days. The design covers three communal areas: the entry concourse, a central display and a catwalk arena inside the exhibition hall. A futuristic industrial laboratory theme is applied throughout. Moving robotic arms and conveyor belt showcases present the fashion brands. The structures were prefabricated off site and assembled in three days. Metal hollow sections were recycled after the event and the carpets were biodegradable.

Inside Out Design Event

Inside Out

Inside Out is an event design created for DesignInspire, a three day exhibition held in Hong Kong. The concept turns a temporary wall structure inside out to expose all of its workings. Untreated plywood panels, off the shelf fixings and hired scaffolding form the entrance wall, the reception counter, the open forum, two open workshops and the communal display areas. A set of rules was prepared before construction to reduce onsite waste and to allow materials to be reused. The raw and neutral setting contrasts with the graphics and the products on display.
