Russian Design Pavilion

exhibitions, design contests, workshops, educational design consulting and publishing projects aiming to promote Russian designers and brands abroad. Our activities stimulate Russian speaking designers to perfect their knowledge and skills through international projects and help them to understand their role in design community, how to promote and make their products competitive, and create true innovations.

Haier Golden Banyan Trophy

Banyan trees are sacred in Asia, and featured in many stories. The tree supports its expanding canopy by growing special roots from its branches. These roots hang down and act as props over an ever widening circle, which can be a metaphorical life force. The designer interprets the ‘banyan concept’ into the physical and visual appearance, and realized the design in a modern and innovative way. As important, the underlying meaning is implicitly communicated and illustrated through this symbol of merits.

World's Fair

A medallic commemoration of the 1964 New York Word's Fair. This project concept connects the 1939 and the 1964 New York World's Fairs, both having been sited in Flushing Meadows, New York. It was commissioned by the New York Numismatic Club, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of it's founding in concordance with the 75th and 50th anniversaries of both New York World's Fairs. The concept and design is the work of Joel Iskowitz, with the artist's mark, JI, appearing on the lower left of the field. Sculpted in bas relief by Luigi Badia with, LB, seen on lower right.

The Pulse of New Talent showcase captures the essence of youthful excitement, energy and self-expression through the fresh lens of 14 distinct personalities culled from six countries representing an exciting, international world view. The 20 piece collection features inspired and inventive designs; from a visionary visor and imaginative tops and jackets, to youthful swimwear and architecturally inspired outerwear and accessories including bags.
