Wakin Chau

Wakin Chau is a concert stage design created for a world tour completed in 2024. The stage works in two parts. In the first part, six curtains of fire-resistant gray fabric hide the LED screens and the band, while ink-wash projections form a misty mountain scene. Each curtain weighs about 100 kilograms and reaches a height of 1,336 centimeters, so strong mechanical systems lift the fabric quickly. In the second part, the curtains retract and three LED screens create a modern atmosphere for the audience.

Crystal Opera House

The Crystal Opera House is the designer's tribute to classical architecture and art. To convey the strong artistic atmosphere of the traditional classical opera house to the public.

The animated content combined Taiwanese folklore, history, geography, marine imagery, culture and sport, shown in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. One rehearsal and seven evening performances were held in February 2022.

The concept, named Chapter Infinity, was inspired by drawings of impossible spaces. Suspended LED screens, a floating staircase, an infinity mirror and overlapping planes of mesh, mirror and acrylic form the setting. All items were prefabricated off site to allow a three-day installation. Reusable aluminium frames and biodegradable carpets were used.
