The organiser of the HK Gifts & Premium Fair required an eye-catching design that would evoke the feeling of joy to welcome its many international attendees. To uplift the ambience, two installations were created, one at main foyer of the venue and another at the main entry point into the exhibition hall. Under the theme of Pixel Love! a physical experience was formulated based on research on digitalized messages, emoji and a video gaming culture of the Eighties.
The Singapore Airlines iconic bird graphic is transformed into a 3D sculptural art piece, creating the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix Trophy. Smooth clean curves mimic the beauty and elegance synonymous with modern F1 cars. Three embossed gold stripes on each wing represent speed, power and direction. The 24K gold-plated trophy, milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminium blocks and hand-polished, is fused with a contrasting semi-matt black base with seven 'rings' paying tribute to the longevity of the world’s first F1 Night race. An additional ring added for every subsequent year.
TRANSPORTA is an edutainment platform that creates fun and engaging experiential journey with the use of multi sensorial technologies. The unassuming entrance to the secret portal is designed and strategically located, blending into the environment to create a sense of mystery for visitors. The experiential installations are not only immersive and visually captivating, it is also educational and informative. Through this multi-sensory and interactive journey that combines art and science, visitors get to learn and play at the same time.
The four storylines connected by the each seasons are directed by the 3-D character, variety of sculptures and the photo zone where the five senses can be experienced, making customers and children feel Lotte World Mall as a fairy tale world where customers can experience instead of simply shopping mall.
This project is to design the inaugural ‘In the Arena Award’ presented to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in November 2018 at The University of Texas at Austin. Team of ten design students from wkrm design under the creative direction from the professor, worked together to conceptualize the award to recognize those who have dedicated their lives to public service. The physical award and its case, overall branding, promotional collateral, and letterpressed program and citation were designed and fabricated by students team in-house.
This production involves more than 200 square metres of screens. Volumetric lighting and complex decorations immerses the audience into a new galaxy, that no one has seen or imagined before. Light and sound effect power is measured in thousands of megawatts; and all performances are based on futuristic technologies. This show has been a great success among viewers of all ages and constantly sold out to full houses.So far 19 countries have applied and are waiting to see the world tour of this magical show.
